HOW TO BAKE BACON

How to bake bacon
1. Obtain the oven HOT.
Preheat to 400° and line a sizable baking sheet with foil. (You will be grateful once you're ready to do dishes.)
Test Kitchen Note: Everyone's oven differs. We recommend utilizing an oven thermometer to make certain the heat is really at 400°. (Many builtin thermometers are inaccurate.) If yours is running hotter, you risk burning the bacon.
2. Make use of your cooling rack.
If you want your bacon extra crispy, place a metal cooling rack within the baking sheet. Elevating the bacon enables the strips to prepare all sides. If you want your bacon after some chew, or you do not have a cooling rack, skip this task. Your bacon it's still amazing.
3. Bake the bacon.
Lay bacon strips in one layer around the baking sheet. Don't let them overlap or even the strips will stick together. Bake before the bacon is crispy, about twenty minutes, based on its thickness. Our recommendation: Start checking after fifteen minutes because some ovens are finicky and burnt bacon is unhappy.
4. Drain the slices.
Per usual, drain the (very greasy) bacon slices on the paper towel-lined plate, then serve immediately.
5. Save the bacon fat!
Pour grease right into a mason jar (or any other glass container) and store within the fridge. All joking aside — saving body fat would be the best decision you are making all week. Technology-not only to prepare eggs, roast vegetables, and pop popcorn!
